Stock - Product groups
In Rackbeat, you can access product groups by going to Stock > Product groups.
Product groups must be established before creating actual products. Additionally, product groups must be set up according to Vat percentage rates. From the product groups, the VAT rate and VAT handling method (domestic VAT, community sales VAT, non-community VAT, or domestic tax-free VAT) information is retrieved.
Product group integration transfer between Netvisor and Rackbeat
It is sufficient if product groups are found in one of the programs; the initial synchronization establishes the groups in the other program along with the product.
Product group hierarchy is not supported in Rackbeat. If there is a product group hierarchy in Netvisor, we recommend dismantling the hierarchy.
Product groups are mandatory in Rackbeat, so at least one group must be established.
If a product in Netvisor lacks a group, Rackbeat will form the product group as “Products.”
If new product groups are established in Rackbeat, these will be established in Netvisor when an order containing a product from the new product group is transferred to Netvisor.
In Rackbeat, a product group can guide whether products are by default storable or not, whether they are available for sales transactions or not, and the default VAT rate for products. Note! The storable selection is addressed when the product group is created.
The selection can be edited as long as the group's products do not have stock transactions. After the first transaction, the Storable information is locked. The product's product group cannot be changed to a different Storable status group after the product has stock transactions. If, for example, a non-storable product is desired to be storable and it has had transactions, the product can be put into a blocked status and a new product can be established. Change the code of the blocked product somehow to establish a new product with the old code.
If the Storable option is selected as "No," a field "Distribute cost to received products" will appear, where one of the following is selected:
- No: In this case, a non-storable product (e.g., freight) on the purchase order does not affect the purchase price of other products
- Yes, based on quantity: The price of a non-storable product on the purchase order is distributed to the purchase price of other storable products on the purchase order based on the product quantity
- Yes, based on value: The price of a non-storable product on the purchase order is distributed to the purchase price of other storable products on the purchase order based on the product value.
