This guide describes how to create and manage model variations for products in Rackbeat. Model variations allow the creation of different product combinations, such as different colors and sizes.
CONTENTS
In Rackbeat, you can access model variations by going to Inventory > Variations.
In this view, you create different model variations for a product, i.e., what kind of product combinations the product can have. The view lists previously created Models / Variations.
Creating a new model variation
1. Start by clicking "Create new"
2. Give a name to the model variation
3. Select if necessary "Use SKU number," where SKU is an abbreviation for "Stock Keeping Unit," meaning the inventory item. This allows creating a so-called "sub-product number" for the product, which appears, for example, on the order confirmation printout. Initially, the product number appears, i.e., the possible SKU number.
4. The Number field is sequential, and the number will be one higher than the existing number.
5. Create the actual models for the model variation
As an example, create new models for size and color. A single model variation can have a maximum of two models
6. Once the models are added, give them attributes (e.g., for the size field, provide a suitable attribute
7. If the SKU number has been previously selected for model variations, provide it also for the attributes
Below is an example of a model variation with two models and different attributes.
8. When the model variations are ready, you can select it for a new product in the Model Variation field. You can add or change the model variation for a product if it has not yet had any transactions9. After this, the Model Selector tab will appear for the product. The view shows which products of different model variations are in stock. The view can still be filtered by the desired inventory.
10. After adding the model variation, when selecting a product with model variation for a purchase order, order, or invoice, you can choose which model to order or sell.
