Changing the Netvisor user interface language
You can open the user interface language selection by logging in to Netvisor and selecting your own name in the upper right corner.
- Log in to Netvisor.
- Select your own name in the upper right corner.
- Move the mouse over your name/icon to open the menu.
- Select the user interface language from the menu.
- Save your own basic settings if needed.
Changing the user interface language only changes your own view.
User communication settings
You can open your own basic data and the Communication tab by selecting your own name in the upper right corner and My basic settings.
- Open your own basic settings.
- Go to the Communication tab.
- Define the email address to which you want to receive:
- messages about purchase invoices not yet checked
- messages about purchase invoices not yet approved
- information about possible disruption notifications.
- Select the default language for communication from the drop-down menu.
- Save the settings.
Invoicing, products and customer communication
Invoicing settings
You can open the invoice language and standard text settings by selecting Sales > Settings > Invoicing settings.
- Open the customer card for the customer for whom you want to define the sales invoice language.
- Select Edit additional information > Invoice language.
- Set the sales invoice language (EN/SE) per customer.
- Open Sales > Settings > Invoicing settings.
- Add translations if needed:
- for standard texts used on invoices before the invoice rows
- for standard texts used on invoices after the invoice rows
- for email cover messages.
Products and product groups
You can open the language fields of products by selecting Products > product card.
- Enable extended product management if you want to save information in several languages (Finnish, English, Swedish).
- Open the product card for the product for which you want to add translations.
- Add the product name and description in the dedicated fields in English.
- Add the product name and description in the dedicated fields in Swedish.
You can open the translations of product groups and units by selecting Products > product settings > units.
- Make sure that translations have been added for product groups.
- Make sure that translations have been added for units (e.g. pcs, h).
Bookkeeping and specification of accounts
Company basic data
You can open the company basic data by selecting Company basic data from the menu that opens under the company name.
- Open the company basic data.
- Define the 1st foreign language for the company.
- Define the 2nd foreign language if needed.
- Save the changes.
When a foreign language has been defined, you can use language versions in bookkeeping reports.
Bookkeeping reports
- Open the bookkeeping report you want.
- Check that a foreign language has been added to the company basic data.
- Select the desired language from the Report language selection:
- Finnish
- English
- Swedish.
Specification of accounts translations
You can open the Specification of accounts by selecting Financial management > Specification of accounts.
- Open Financial management > Specification of accounts.
- Identify in the Specification of accounts the accounts and account groups that you have created yourself.
- Open the settings of each account for which you want to add translations.
- Add the necessary translations in the account settings.
- Make sure that the company’s 1st foreign language and possibly 2nd foreign language have been defined in the company basic data so that the Specification of accounts translations work.
Payroll and employee-specific settings
Payslip language
You can open the employee’s basic data by selecting Pay > employee listing > employee data.
- Open Pay > employee listing.
- Select the employee for whom you want to define the payslip language.
- Open the employee data.
- Select the payslip language in the employee’s basic data.
- Save the changes.
The payslip language is determined according to the language selection made in the employee’s basic data. The change only affects payslips generated in the future.
Salary type translations
You can open company-specific salary types by selecting Pay > Payroll > Salary model management > Company-specific salary types.
- Use the ready-made salary types where the name has been translated into English and Swedish.
- When you create a new salary type:
- always enter the salary type name in Finnish
- enter the salary type name in English if needed
- enter the salary type name in Swedish if needed.
- Use language translations in the separate language fields, not in the original name of the salary type.
- Note that if the salary type name is in English and a new Salary model is copied to the company where the name of a similar salary type is in Finnish, the program cannot match the salary types with each other because in one the name is in English and in the other in Finnish.
Language translations must not be used in the original name of the salary type.
Record type translations
You can open the Record type settings by selecting Pay > Settings > Payroll settings > Record types.
- Open Pay > Settings > Payroll settings > Record types.
- Select the record type for which you want to add a language translation.
- Enter a translation for the record type in the selected languages.
- Save the changes.
The record type name is shown according to the selected user interface language if a translation has been provided.
Record types are shown to the employee in the "Working time entry" view in alphabetical and numerical order based on the record type name. Note the alphabetical and numerical order of language translations if the employee uses Netvisor in English or Swedish.
Free texts and instructions
Employee-specific texts: If you use the Text before payslip rows field or the Text after payslip rows field, enter the text already translated in all required languages.
Working time entry instructions: Salary model-specific working time entry instructions are shown to the employee in the language of their user interface if the instructions have been entered in several languages.
