This guide explains how to create a backup from the Netvisor training environment.
CONTENTS
Training environment backup
The Netvisor training environment has a backup tool. With this, a desired training company can be backed up and later restored to the same state it was in before the backup was made.
The tool is only available in the training environment, which you can access by logging in at http://koulutus.netvisor.fi/tableui/login/login.asp
Required permissions
Backup requires the company to have accounting office main user (TPK) + user administrator (KH) rights for the menu to appear in the company. If the company is linked to an accounting office/another company, the backup can be made from this accounting office/company to those companies where you have at least user administrator (KH) rights.
Backup is found in the company menu and in one where the user has TPK rights.
Conditions for restoration in educational use
- The educational institution has an "accounting office" company environment where the teacher has TPK rights.
- Student environments are created from the educational institution's "accounting office" company, forming an accounting office link.
- Due to the accounting office link, KH rights are generated for the teacher-TPK in the student environments.
- When the teacher wants to create restoration schedules for student environments:
- They log into the Backup tool from the "accounting office" company
- From there, they see all student companies where they have KH and can create restoration schedules.
Creating a backup
Companies appear in the list alphabetically. Find the company from the list for which you want to create a backup. From the Functions button, there is an option "Create backup". This creates a so-called restoration point for the company.
The time of the backup is seen after the company's name.
Creating a restoration schedule
If you want to enable the automatic restoration feature for a company, the "Functions" button at the end of the company's row allows you to create a new restoration schedule.
Define on which day the automatic restoration is done. Active means that the automatic restoration is on. At the bottom of the screen, there is a "Save" button, where the created restoration schedules are saved. The restoration occurs at midnight.
Manual restoration
Once an automatic restoration schedule has been created for a company, restoration can also be done manually thereafter. If you do not want to create a restoration schedule automatically, save the restoration schedule without selecting days and save it. Manual restoration is possible by clicking the restore link. If you have made any changes, restoration is only possible after saving.
When you click the restore link, the confirmation view below appears.
The restored section shows the restoration time
Restoration removes changes/events made to the system after the backup was made. This removes, among other things, purchase and sales invoices, financial statements, receipts, customers, and suppliers. In practice, for example, in educational use, desired preliminary data can be created for the company, and this tool can be used to remove exercises made by students.
In accounting office use, this can be used, for example, in training new customers, and the material created in training can be removed if necessary by restoring the company to its initial state.
Integration implementers can also utilize this tool for testing data imports.
Restoring a backup from another company
The tool can also be used to restore a backup from one company to another company if the user has at least KH rights in both companies. This is done using the pencil and notebook button at the end of the row.
- Create a backup from the company whose data you want to restore to another company
- Find the company from the dropdown menu to which you want to restore the other company's data
- Press the "Restore" button on the target company's row.
