The guide covers creating, editing, and importing a budget, as well as making a budget by calculation targets. Controller budgeting is suitable for all company forms. The budget can be created at the account group level, account level, or calculation target level. Budget creation is currently possible for 4- and 5-digit accounts. If 6-digit or larger accounts have been created in the account list, budgeting for them is not possible.

Creating a budget
Budget creation starts from the Create New section. A name and time interval are given to the new budget. Additionally, a deadline can be set for when the budget should be ready. Budget entry can start on a blank template or use ready-made figures. The budget distribution rule is automatically equal distribution to months. More distribution rules will be added in the future. It should be noted in budget entry that decimal support is not available. Once created, the budget structure cannot be modified, meaning any changes to the chart of accounts for budgeted accounts must be made before creating the budget.
The budget can be deleted, copied, or selected as the primary budget through the three dots. The primary budget only affects the order in which budgets are displayed in the Controller.
In the Controller, both income statement and balance sheet budgets can be created. Revenues are budgeted with a positive value and expenses with a negative value. When budgeting at the account group level, the sum automatically flows to the first account under the group. If budget entry has started at the account level and then budget is entered at the account group level, the budget values of the accounts under the group will be overridden.
Budget creation and forecasting based on a broken (over 12 months) fiscal year realization always copies the "latest values" of each month. The same value can thus appear multiple times on the new budget/forecast if the realization period is over 12 months.
Budgeting by calculation targets
Budgeting for a calculation target starts by searching for the desired target from the search field at the top of the budget. Budgeting can also be done directly for a calculation target combination. To find the calculation target in the list, it must be visible (not hidden). Also, if the calculation target is a sub-target of another target, the main target must also be visible in the management of calculation targets. If calculation targets are modified, the controller must be manually updated for the changes to be reflected there. The controller updates automatically overnight.
The magnifying glass search field at the top of the opened view only works as a filter; desired calculation targets must be added through the Add Calculation Target function. If there is unallocated balance on the budget that is allocated to a calculation target, this must be manually removed from the unallocated column. Otherwise, the balance in the unallocated column will increase the total budget.
If the budget is made for a calculation target combination and only one target is selected to be displayed on the front page, the entire sum budgeted for the combination will be shown. By drilling down from the budget field arrow button, other calculation targets to which the same sum has been budgeted can be seen.
When recording a calculation target budget, it should be remembered that the budgeted amounts also increase the total budget.
Importing your own budget
The budget can be downloaded to Excel for editing and can be imported back from Excel to the Controller. You can also create a new blank budget, download it to your computer, edit it with your own budget data, and import it back to the Controller. The blank budget template will show information in columns: account, calculation target headings, and month. Default headings must not be removed. If you do not want to budget by calculation targets, leave the row data in the calculation target heading columns empty. Even if the company does not have any calculation targets, you must still leave/add the column "calculation target heading" in Excel to succeed in the import (see images below).
Add the calculation target heading column between columns A and B. Or leave this B column completely empty in Excel if no calculation targets have been established for the company.
If you want to budget by calculation targets, the desired calculation target must be manually entered exactly under the correct calculation target heading, as it is presented in the management of calculation targets.
Budget data must be entered row-wise at the account level. Data entered at the account level will update to the account group level in the Controller. NOTE! All accounts to be imported in the budget must have the "Allow budgeting for account" option selected in Netvisor, otherwise the transfer will result in an error.
