This guide explains how to remove a group structure in Netvisor. Sometimes there may be situations where the group structure needs to be removed, for example, due to changes in group structures or termination of environments. Group companies cannot be terminated until they have been detached from the group structure.
If a company is removed from the group (archived so that the figures are still visible in group reporting until the removal date), then group reporting must still be enabled in this archived company so that figures can be retrieved retrospectively. If not needed, the company must be completely removed from the group, but old reports must be saved beforehand. In this case, group processing can be disabled for the company removed from the group.
If the group is to be completely removed, the customer must ensure that the necessary reports are taken from the system, because once the group is removed, reports can no longer be retrieved retrospectively. This also applies to situations where, for example, subsidiaries are merged. If it is desired that the subsidiaries are still reportable after the merger, the merging environments cannot be removed but are left in effect with discounts. In such cases, please contact Netvisor support directly. If there is no reporting need, companies can be removed from the group structure and terminated normally.
To remove the group, all subsidiaries must first be removed. It is not enough to move the subsidiaries to the archive; they must be completely removed from the group structure. This can be done using the checkmark behind the subsidiary.
Select removal. This must be done separately for each subsidiary.
Once the subsidiaries are removed, the "Remove" button for the group structure is activated on the Group tab, from which the group structure can be completely removed.

Transferring a company from one sub-group to another.
If, for example, a sub-group is to be removed, but a company from it is transferred to another group structure. It is then recommended to first save the reports from the group. Terminate the sub-group companies from the group and archive them to a specific date. After this, the sub-group company can be transferred to another group so that its start date is later than its termination and archive date in the other sub-group.
