Open the management of Controller key figures by selecting Controller > Key figures and management reporting > Key figures.
Use this selection when you want to create new key figures for the Controller's performance monitoring. With key figures, you can calculate values from accounting to the performance monitoring view.
The system has ready-made key figures based on the specification of accounts. Values for these key figures are automatically obtained for performance monitoring.
- You cannot delete default system-generated key figures.
- You can delete a key figure you have entered yourself.
Values are updated automatically during the night run.
- Calculate values manually at the desired time if needed.
Management of key figure formula
Input of fixed key figure data
Create a new key figure with the function "New key figure".
Fill in the details of the new key figure as follows:
- Name: Enter the name of the key figure.
- Description: Enter the description of the key figure.
- Target value: Enter the target value of the key figure.

Unit to be used: Select the unit:
- Euro value (€)
- Cumulatively behaving euro value (€)
- Percentage value (%)
- Index value

Source of key figure data: Select "Formula" or "Static data".
- "Static data" means a manually entered value.
Save the key figure by selecting Save data.
Edit key figure
Edit the key figure as follows:
- Find the key figure using the search function in the Key figures view.
- Enter edit mode by clicking the name of the key figure.
- Once the key figure is saved, it does not yet have a formula.
- If the key figure has been used in the calculation of another key figure, only the target value can be edited from its information.
- The formula, however, can be edited normally, even if the key figure is used in the calculation of another key figure.
Management of key figure formula
Manage the formula of the key figure when the source of the key figure data is "Formula".
- If the data source is "Static data", the system shows the notification: "The type of data source for the key figure has been defined as static data". In this case, the formula for the key figure cannot be managed.
- Once the key figure is saved, it does not yet have a formula.
Proceed as follows to add a formula:
- Find the key figure using the search function in the Key figures view.
- Enter edit mode by clicking the name of the key figure.
- If the key figure has been used in the calculation of another key figure, only the target value can be edited from its information.
- The formula, however, can be edited normally, even if the key figure is used in the calculation of another key figure.
Once the key figure is saved, it does not yet have a formula.
Example of a ready formula
The view shows if the key figure is used in the calculation of another key figure's formula.
- The above example is included in the "Operating result" key figure formula.
Order: Define the row order number in the listing.
- If you want to add a new row as the top row of the listing, add the row to the bottom row and give it the order number 1–9.
- After saving, the added row is at the top of the listing.
Type: Select the type for the row from the options below.
Arithmetic operation: Use mathematical operations + - * / ( ) etc.
- When adding a formula, mathematical calculation rules must be followed.
Change of period for accounting actual values: Select the desired account or account group from the specification of accounts.
Key figure for accounting actual values: Select the desired account or account group from the specification of accounts.
Average of accounting actual values for the period: Select the desired account or account group from the specification of accounts.
Number: Enter a fixed numerical value yourself.
Own key figure: Pick existing key figures as part of the formula.
- Do not use a key figure as part of itself. Otherwise, it results in a so-called eternal loop and the system gives an error message "DEADLOCK!".
Correction factor for key figure period: Use the correction factor when you want, for example, added numbers to be correctly obtained for quarterly and financial period figures so that they do not multiply multiple times.
Input of fixed key figure data
Enter fixed key figure data for key figures whose data source is "Static data".
- If there are no key figures with static data, the system notifies: "No key figures marked with static data as the data source".
- Give the key figure the desired value per month.
If you have added the key figure in question to the performance monitoring view, the key figure appears in performance monitoring as shown in the image below.
Management of key figures
Use the view when you want to review the established monitoring views and the key figures linked to them.
Add a completely new tab to the performance monitoring view as follows:
- Select the "New view" link.
- Enter the name of the new view in the Description field.
- Enter the Order number, which affects the order of the tabs:
- The view with the smallest order number is shown first on the left.
- The view with the largest order number is shown last.
- Edit an already created view by clicking the name of the view.
- Delete the view from the same place if you no longer need it.
Add an existing key figure to the desired view as follows:
- Select the view to which you want to add the key figure.
- Select the key figure, accounting account group or accounting account you want to link.
- Define the order in which the key figures are shown.
- If necessary, select whether the key figure is expanded by default.
View: Select from the field the view to which the key figure is added.
Key figure: Select from the field the existing key figure, accounting account group or accounting account to be linked.
Order: Define in the field the order in which the key figures are shown. The key figure with the smallest order number appears first in the listing.
Expansion by default: Set the key figure to expand by default if the key figure consists of a formula that includes other key figures. In this case, the key figure is automatically expanded in the monitoring view.
The formed view looks like below, for example.
Edit: Select when you want to edit the information again, for example to change the order.
Delete: Delete the key figure from the view. This function does not delete the key figure itself.
Formatting: Replace default formatting with your own choices. The view has the selections below.
Allow drilling: Select whether the key figure can be drilled down to the voucher level and see which vouchers the value consists of.

Calculation of key figures
Proceed with the calculation of key figures as follows:
- All key figures, including those defined by the user, are pre-calculated based on the previous day's data.
- Start the recalculation of key figures if you want to include all the latest transactions.
- The calculation takes from a few seconds to some tens of seconds.
When you use the Key figures and management reporting function for the first time, start the key figure calculation manually for the first time:
- Open the calculation view.
- Select the two lowest options in the calculation view.
- Start the calculation.
- In the future, the system will automatically calculate the key figures overnight.
- Perform the calculation manually if you want a real-time balance from the accounting side in the Controller section.
- The active period refers to the active financial period.
