Recorded working hours can be used to track the hours of an hourly pay employee, for payroll, and for allocation to calculation targets. For a monthly salary employee, working hours can be tracked and pay can be allocated to calculation targets. When a company has time management and calculation targets, monthly obligations can be automatically allocated to calculation targets based on working hours. Help: Allocation curve
In the full version of Netvisor, working hours are recorded under Working hours > Record working hours

Conditions for recording working hours
Recording working hours is possible if the following conditions are met. Information can be easily managed in bulk from the Employee listing.
Payroll > Personnel > Employee listing.
The validity of the employment relationship does not affect the entry of working hours.
1. Person is added as an employee
The user must be created as an employee (Help: creating a new employee).
2. Person has Salaries service enabled
The employee must have the Salaries service activated to record working hours.
The service can be activated, for example, from the employee listing bulk action menu.
3. Person's status is active
In the working hours entry view, working hours can only be added for active employees (passive ones do not appear in the selection list).
Activity can be easily managed, for example, from the employee listing bulk action menu.

4. Person is added to the environment as a user, e.g., with the Employee role. Working hours can be recorded on mobile without adding the person as a user in Netvisor, but logging into the browser version requires adding access rights. Help here.
Hours or clock times
The salary model can be set to determine how working hours can be entered in the Record working hours view or in the Netvisor mobile application.
Help: salary model settings).
The employee cannot choose from the view how they want to record their hours; the payroll accountant makes this decision. Working hours can be entered as hours (e.g., 7.5 h) or given as clock times and breaks, from which working hours are calculated.
In hours
In hours, 7 hours 30 minutes is given as 7.5 h. When adding a new working hours row, the system automatically suggests the number of hours for the day, calculated by dividing the regular weekly working hours by the number of working days in the week, so that the day's and week's working hours are complete. The default number of regular weekly working hours for the salary model is set in the salary model settings.
Payroll > Payroll > Salary model management > Select salary model > Record working hours tab

In clock times
When entering clock times, the start time and end time are given, along with any break taken during that time. Working hours can be recorded, for example, as 08:00 - 16:00 including a 30-minute break, resulting in 7.5 h of working time. The same result can be achieved by making two separate entries and omitting the break. For example, 08:00 - 11:00, break 0 min, and 11:30 - 16:00, break 0 min, resulting in the same 7.5 h of working time.
For example, the clock time "09:00" can be entered in formats such as 0900, 09:00, 9:00, 900, or just 9. The program interprets and completes the information as a clock time and displays it with a colon. If interpretation cannot be made, the field is shown in red to indicate an error.
Access rights
To access the Record working hours page, the payroll-specific rights must include edit rights for the Record working hours section in time management.
Help: Payroll-specific rights and roles
An employee without roles and hierarchy rights can only manage their own working hours in the working hours entry view.

No roles
The user can enter/edit working hours only for their own hours or on behalf of those employees for whom they have approval rights in the company hierarchy.
Help: Company hierarchies
Personal details handler (HH) role
The user can enter/edit working hours only for employees for whom they have approval rights in the company hierarchy.
Payroll accountant (P) role
The user can enter/edit working hours for all employees without company hierarchy approval rights. The P role overrides the company hierarchy.
Frequently asked questions
Why can't I record working hours in the browser version, but it works with the mobile app?
Check with the company's user administrator that the employee's access rights are correct on the Users and roles page. Employees must have at least edit rights for the "Record working hours" section. There is a ready-made "Employee" profile in the access rights for employees, which provides all necessary rights for the employee, and there is no need to manually edit the rights.
Why doesn't the flexitime balance decrease even though I didn't record working hours for a certain day?
Netvisor's flexitime tracking only follows those days where time entries have been saved. More information on flexitime in its own guide. Help: Flexitime
Why can't I confirm the open working hours of the period
Confirming working hours is only possible for a created pay period, which must be created on the Payslips and periods page. Help: Confirming working hours
