Removing a Product

This help describes how to delete a product either from publication or from the product registry in Netvisor. Both actions can be performed in the process basket, and publication management can also be done on the product card or in bulk in the product listing.

Deleting a product can mean two different things: deleting the product name from publication or deleting the product name from the product registry. Both actions can be done in the process basket of the product listing, and removal from publication can also be done on the product card or in bulk through the product listing.

Removing a product through the product listing

You can delete a product through the product listing by selecting in Netvisor Products > Product listing.

Proceed as follows:

1. Search for the desired product with a keyword or select the products to be deleted from the product list.
2. From the arrow menu at the bottom of the page, select Remove selected products.
3. Make sure that there are no more than 1000 products to be deleted at a time, as you can delete a maximum of 1000 products at once.

Removing a product through the process basket

You can manage product deletion and publication status in bulk by moving products to the process basket from the product listing.

Make the following selections in the product listing:

1. Select the products you want to move to the process basket.
2. Press Add selected to process basket.

In the process basket, the view shows the selected products and their editable settings.

Continue as follows:

1. From the arrow menu in the upper corner, select Update products > Publication status.

In the process basket, it is possible to manage in bulk the removal of product names from publication and the removal of product names from the product registry.

1. Published: check here if the product should be published. Uncheck if the product should be unpublished.
2. Delete: check here if the product should be deleted from the product registry.
3. Bulk action: a selection where choosing Yes deletes all products brought to the process basket at once.
4. Bulk action activation button, which activates the delete action for all product rows.
5. Finally, save the changes by pressing the Save changes button at the bottom of the page so that the changes take effect.

Please note that deleted product names remain on existing sales, purchase, and stock transactions after deletion.

Question: What is the difference between deleting a product from publication and deleting a product from the product registry?

Answer: Deleting a product name from publication means that the product is not published, but it remains in the product registry. Deleting a product name from the product registry means that the product is removed from the product registry.
