Attach salary type to salary model
Once the salary type is created in company-specific salary types, it can be attached to the desired salary model.
The salary type is attached to the salary model from the salary model formulas:
Pay > Payroll > Salary model management > Select salary model > Salary type formulas tab
Since trade union dues are deducted from the net wage or salary, it is attached to the "To be paid" salary type.
Calculatory > To be paid > Edit (pencil/notepad)

The formula for the "To be paid" salary type is first shown in full after the equals sign. Below this, the same formula is listed, and new salary types can be added here.

At the bottom of the page, there is a green plus sign. A new row to be processed always opens below from the sign.
Press the green plus twice to get two rows to be processed:
- Calculation and minus sign
- Salary type: Fixed trade union dues
- Save

Now the "Fixed trade union dues" salary type is attached to the salary model and can be used in payroll.
Employee salary basis
The source of the "Fixed trade union dues" salary type is Employee salary basis, so the fixed amount of the salary type can be added to the employee's salary basis management:
Pay > Personnel > Salary basis management
In salary basis management, the "Trade union dues" salary type is found, and the value is given in its field for each employee. The amount of the deduction can vary between employees. This fixed amount is only entered for those employees who have a fixed membership fee in use.

Salary model formatting
When new salary types are created in the program, they automatically appear first on the payslip rows. The salary model formatting can be edited to make the payslip look as desired by changing the order of salary types by dragging the salary type up or down. Formatting can also hide salary types from view: Pay > Payroll > Salary model management > Select salary model > Formatting tab
Remember to save changes from the bottom of the page.

Example payslip
When the formatting is correct and a fixed amount has been given in the employee's salary basis, the fixed membership fee appears on the payslip and reduces the net wage or salary.

Create a new settlement point for fixed trade union dues
A separate settlement point is created for the fixed trade union dues.
Pay > Payroll > Settlements > Go to settlement point settings > New settlement point > New settlement point

Settlement point settings:
- Type: Union membership fee
- Name: Fixed trade union dues
- Deducting salary type on payslip: Fixed trade union dues
- Default period: Month, if the settlement is to be paid once a month
- Is the settlement paid: Select this if the settlement is paid from Netvisor
- Bank account number: Add
- Reference number: Add
- Save

Attach employees to settlement point:

Once the employee is attached to the settlement point, a payable settlement can be created for them once the pay has been calculated.
More information about employee-specific reference numbers for the settlement point is provided in the guide Settlement points.
There is a separate guide for creating settlements: Creating settlements
