This guide describes how to create and manage production orders in the Rackbeat system. Manufacturing adds the product to inventory and reduces sub-products. Changes to production orders do not transfer to Netvisor, but remain in Rackbeat.
CONTENTS
Production order
You can access the production order view by going to Inventory > Production.
A production order creates manufacturing from the products of product structures. This way, the product to be manufactured is added to inventory, and the sub-products of the product structure are reduced from inventory. The production order does not update information to Netvisor, but changes remain within Rackbeat.
A new production order is created using the Create new button.
Production order fields
- Note: Possible order-specific work instructions
- Expected completion: When the goods should be ready
- Start date: When manufacturing begins
- Create product structure: Select which product structure product you want to manufacture. To make the information selectable, a product structure must first be built, which includes the main product and the sub-products from which the main product is manufactured. In the view, multiple product structures can be manufactured at once by selecting a new Create product structure row
- Quantity: How many units of the product structure product are manufactured
- Employee: Person manufacturing the goods
- Customer: Customer related to the manufacturing
- Template: Layout of prints, can affect work order information
- Order: Order number related to the manufacturing
- Also manufacture: If you want to manufacture more than what is sold in the sales order, specify the percentage used to calculate the quantity of the production order.
Once the information for the product containing the product structure and the quantity to be manufactured has been entered in the view, press the "Create and show" button.
The next view shows whether the product can be manufactured or if something is missing. In the example image below, one product is missing. The missing quantity is calculated using the formula: how much is in stock - how much is needed in total of the sub-product for the composite product/product structure manufacturing.
A purchase order for the missing product(s) can be made through the Actions button. You can choose the checkbox "Buy only missing products," which will create a purchase order suggestion only for the missing products. Once the missing product is added to inventory, the production order can be manufactured. Then press the record manufacturing entry button.Next, the view below opens, where you define how many units of the "composite product" are manufactured and to which inventory. The manufacturing date transfers the composite product to inventory on that day and also reduces the necessary sub-products from inventory.
If the sub-product has batch processing selected, you must then choose the product's batch number or create a new batch number.
Production order view options
At the top of the production order view are the following options:
- Simple pdf: shows only the manufactured composite product
- Detailed pdf: shows the composite product and from which products it is manufactured and the inventory location of these products.
- From the Actions button, you can start the production order process. In this case, the status in the production order view changes from "not started" > "started." This can be used if the production order takes longer to complete.
- Create purchase order: If products are not in stock, they can be directly ordered through a purchase order. By default, the purchase order will include the quantity of sub-products needed for the product structure product manufacturing, but the quantity can be adjusted if, for example, some products are missing from inventory. The view has the option "buy only missing products," which allows you to order the quantity of sub-products needed for the composite product manufacturing. If products are ordered from different suppliers, the program directly creates multiple purchase suggestions.
- Create production order: This allows you to create a new production order
- Edit: You can edit the selected production order
- Copy: Creates a copy of the production order with the same information
- Cancel: You can cancel the specific production order. A canceled order can be reactivated from the production view by selecting "Reopen" at the end of the row
- Delete: You can delete the specific production order. A deleted order cannot be restored.
The production view shows existing production orders. The number in front of the production orders shows the number of production orders visible in the view.
- Started: The view can be filtered to show only started production orders, unstarted ones, or show all
- Ready field allows filtering to show only completed or incomplete production orders
- Canceled option allows searching for canceled production orders
- Search field allows searching for a production order by order number
- Remember button remembers previously made selections
