This help explains how to create a new bank transfer and what requirements are related to it. Make sure you have the rights to make bank transfers and follow the field-specific restrictions. Payments can only be made in euros to bank accounts within the SEPA area.

Creating a bank transfer and rights
- Select Purchases > Bank transfers > New bank transfer when you want to create a new bank transfer.
- Make sure that you have editing rights for bank transfers in the function-specific rights.
- Use the profiles all rights, company user, ledger user or accounts payable user, which automatically include the editing right for bank transfers.
Bank transfer currency, accounts and mandatory fields
- Make a bank transfer only to a SEPA area bank account with the currency in euros.
- Handle payments outside the SEPA area through a purchase invoice.
- Use an IBAN formatted Finnish bank account with the currency in euros as the payer’s account number.
- Handle a currency payment as a purchase invoice.
- For a domestic bank transfer, enter all mandatory fields marked with an asterisk.
- Add either a reference number or a message to the bank transfer; you can use both by selecting "Message + reference".
- For an international bank transfer, in addition to the fields marked with an asterisk, also enter the recipient’s address, which is mandatory.
You can enter an RF reference in the reference field. Currently, Netvisor does not support express payments in bank transfers or purchase invoices.
Character limits for bank transfers
The maximum character limits for bank transfers by field are:
- Message field:
- Danske Bank: up to 75 characters
- OP: up to 140 characters
- Samlink banks (savings bank group, Nooa Bank, POP Bank group, Handelsbanken Finland): up to 35 characters
- Nordea: up to 140 characters
- Aktia: up to 140 characters
- Netvisor allows up to 140 characters in the message field.
- Recipient’s name: up to 100 characters
- Address: up to 70 characters
- Postal address: up to 50 characters
- Postal code: up to 8 characters
- Recipient’s account number (IBAN): up to 35 characters
- Recipient’s BIC code: up to 20 characters

Payment rights
- To be able to pay bank transfers, make sure that you have editing rights set in the function-specific rights under "Payments".
Sales and purchase ledger rights
- In the Sales and Purchase Ledger rights, select the checkbox for "Bank transfer payer" when you want to pay bank transfers.
- Note that if you do not have the "Bank transfer payer" right in the Sales and Purchase Ledger rights, you will only see the bank transfers you have created yourself in the Open and Paid Bank Transfers view.
Using the message field
- Do not use special characters in the message field of the bank transfer.
- Do not use the "Enter" key in the message field, as it may cause an error in message processing on the bank’s side.
- Note that the length of the message field in Netvisor is limited to 140 characters.
Selecting the payment account and due date
- The payment account number is automatically selected if the company has only one bank account.
- If the company has several bank accounts, select the payment account from the drop-down menu in the From account section.
- Select a domestic account with the currency in euros as the payment account.
- The default due date is the day the bank transfer is made, but you can change the due date before saving the bank transfer.
